Friend of Silence

God is the friend of silence. Trees, flowers, grass  grow in silence.   See the stars, moon, and sun, how they move in silence.          Mother Teresa               If people think  nature is their friend,  then they sure don't need  an enemy.   Kurt Vonnegut, Jr Explore This Website

Spirit of ANZAC

Sound the Last Post again,  lest we forget the freedom that we cherish  has been bought - not found like mushrooms  in the field;  the debt is ours to pay,  mindful of those who fought and fell -  yet still they held the torch aloft! May we remain as zealous  to withstand the traitors  who would make our fibres soft, as well as enemies beyond the land.   The trumpet has the power  to move us still, and though the debris of a flood  of years lies over hand and mind,  an aching thrill comes rising  perilously close to tears. Sound the Last Post  to hold the memory bright, then sound the Rouse  and keep the torch alight. By: Mike Subritzky Source: http://www.poems.net.au/anzac-day-poems/ Explore This Website

Life's Rhythm And Harmony

We cannot be happy  if we expect to live all the time  at the highest peak of intensity.   Happiness is not a matter of intensity  but of balance and order  and rhythm and harmony.   Thomas Merton Slow down and enjoy life.  It's not only the scenery you miss  by going too fast -  you also miss the sense  of where you are going and why.   Eddie Cantor   Explore This Website

A Sense of Destination

The capacity for hope  is the most significant  fact of life.  It provides human beings  with a sense of destination and the energy to get started. Norman Cousins Do not spoil what you have  by desiring what you have not; but remember that  what you now have  was once among the things you only hoped for. Epicurus Explore This Website

Live By Thy Light

If nature were not beautiful,  it would not be worth knowing,  and if nature were not  worth knowing,  life would not be worth living.   Henri Poincare Nature's great law,  and law of all men's minds? -- To its own impulse every creature stirs;  Live by thy light,  and earth will live by hers!
