As I have said before how quickly time flies, the year of the tiger - my favourite is nearly gone!!   I must today take this opportunity to write something about it as a tribute to all the endangered lovely Tigers.  Otherwise I would have to wait for another 12 years for the special year of the tiger!!  Just last month it was reported that highest living rare tigers found in the Himalayas.   I was really thrilled when I heard the wonderful news.

New television footage has revealed tigers living more than 4,000 metres above sea level in the Himalayas.

Experts say it is the first real evidence that tigers normally found in jungle habitats can live and breed at such altitude. The BBC expedition team was filming in the remote Himalayan kingdom of Bhutan where they positioned dozens of hidden cameras on possible tiger trails.

When wildlife cameraman Gordon Buchanan returned to review the footage three months later, he was astonished. Caught on camera, in the snow, was a breeding pair. Experts believe it could improve their chances of creating what they call a conservation corridor, linking tiger populations across Asia.
