Mary MacKillop Canonisation

Today is the most suitable time for me to update my blog signifying a new beginning. It is a day we respect and celebrate the canonisation of our first Australian Saint - Mary Mackillop. A day full of emotional excitement. A day we probably will never see again in our lifetime.  "Mary MacKillop was born in 1842 and co-founded the Sisters of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart , in Penola, in 1886. She devoted much of her life to helping disadvantaged children get an education. Her canonisation will occur in St Peter's Basilica in the Vatican and be performed by the Pope."  (The Advertiser, Dec 2009) Source: http://www.adelaidenow.com.au/specials/mary-mackillop

Saint Theresa's Prayer

Tonight I received this much needed gift from Genie via email. I have made a wish and forwarded to 17 people as requested. Thank God for I really need the Saint of the little ways at this moment!! Saint Theresa is known as the Saint of the Little Ways, meaning she believed in doing the little things in life well and with great love. She is represented by roses. Prayer is one of the best free gifts we receive.  Read the prayer below: May today there be peace within. May you trust God that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith. May you use those gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you. May you be content knowing you are a child of God. Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and every one of us.
