Unite & Pray

While reading my textbook in preparation for my upcoming examination;
 I found the Mary MacKillop Prayer Bookmark.
  In the spirit of Mary Mackillop, shall we unite and pray
 the Prayer of the Church – the People of God.

"God of compassion, God of all people, we praise you for your servant,
Mary MacKillop,
who gave her life to serve you in the poor and oppressed.

As she is honoured in our world,
may we continue to learn to share her vision.

Help us to recognize, as she did, that the poor of our time
 will hear the gospel in the way we serve them.
Be with us as we strive to follow her and carry out our mission of service and care."
 Amen

A Life of Gratitude

To speak gratitude is courteous and pleasant, to enact gratitude is generous and noble, but to live gratitude is to touch Heaven. Johannes A. Gaertner To live a life of gratitude is to open our eyes to the countless ways in which we are supported by the world around us. Such a life provides less space for our suffering because our attention is more balanced. We are more often occupied with noticing what we are given, thanking those who have helped us, and repaying the world in some concrete way for what we are receiving. Gregg Krech Explore This Website

Recognize The Possibilities

“Only if you’ve been in the deepest valley can you ever know how magnificent it is to be on the highest mountain.”  Richard Nixon “You do not need to know precisely what is happening, or exactly where it is all going. What you need is to recognize the possibilities and challenges offered by the present moment, and to embrace them with courage, faith and hope.”   Thomas Merton Explore This Website

The Gift of Miracles

Hope begins in the dark, the stubborn hope that if you just show up and try to do the right thing, the dawn will come.  Anne Lamott Hope is the companion of power, and mother of success; for who so hopes strongly has within him the gift of miracles. Samuel Smiles  Explore This Website
